Match Report The 10th match of 2026 Caribbean Premier League saw the Jamaica Kingsmen get up a full-team performance to beat St Kitts & Nevis Patriots by 51 runs at Sabina Park, Kingston. The performance was led by a superb performance from Keemo Paul as he helped with the bat before coming back to put in a mighty effort with the ball.
Set to strike first, Jamaica tumbled a little bit before you knew what was happening as they slipped to 0 for 2 inside the first over. The value team lost Kirk McKenzie and Keacy Carty immediately darting the home side. Jamaica lost both Usman Khan and Reeza Hendricks to go to 54 for 4.
Captain Rovman Powell came to the crease next and with Paul turned the tide of the innings. It was a well-oiled 99-run partnership to boot, blending common sense batting with brutal stroke play. Despite the challenging start, Paul was at his aggressive best and kept the scoreboard ticking.
The all-rounder went on to score an aggressive 65 off just 36 balls, his highest score in a T20I. He hit five fours and five sixes in his innings to provide Jamaica with the impetus they required. Powell scored 49 before he was dismissed at the end of the innings. As thus, Jamaica finished off strongly, scoring 38 runs from the second last and final overs to get 181 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs.
The Patriots’ pursuit also got off to an unfriendly start. Andre Fletcher was out in the first over and Johnson Charles failed to convert another innings into a big score. Paul did further damage when he picked up Kyle Mayers to leave St Kitts & Nevis in deep trouble during the Powerplay.
Nikhil Chaudhary and Dasun Shanaka also quickly made their way back, leaving the Patriots at 64 for 5. Kevin Wickham and Navin Bidaisee had a brief 44-run stand to try to rebuild the innings, but with the required run rate kept rising as days passed by, it became more challenging for them in the end.
The Patriots phased out Bidaisee when they were looking to speed up. The visitors collapsed to the end of their innings, with five wickets falling for just 22 runs after he left. It was left to Jamaica’s bowlers to attempt to make it more interesting, which they did by capturing a few wickets towards the end, but not before Paul who had previously earlier taken 3 for 30 had completed his fantastic spell. Andre Russell returned figures of 2 for 19 as well highest wicket-taker for the team.
Batting first, the Jamaica Kingsmen posted a total of 181 in 20 overs and then bowled out the Patriots for 130 in 18 overs to claim a comfortable by |51 runs. Paul was the star of the match with an innings of 65 and 3 wickets. The comeback victory also provided Jamaica with much needed impetus as they moved up the CPL 2026 campaign and demonstrated great resilience from a dire start.
